1961

Maternity services begin

The institution's service journey started with maternity arrangements for the local community.

1962

Medicine and ophthalmology added

General medicine and ophthalmological services expanded the hospital's early care footprint.

1973

Mission structure formalised

The Sanjeevani Health Co-operative Society merged into Swami Vivekanand Medical Mission as a charitable organisation and secured land for the present hospital building.

1975

Hospital building foundation laid

The foundation ceremony marked the shift from a community healthcare initiative to a long-term institutional facility.

1978

Ground floor inaugurated

The existing building opened with separate OPD and ophthalmology rooms plus strengthened surgery capability.

1985

Blood bank and ICU established

Critical support services were added to deepen emergency and inpatient care readiness.

1990

First floor completed

The hospital expanded capacity and added NICU support, Ayurveda Panchakarma, and an in-house drug store.

1994 - 1996

Acute care and surgical growth

Accident care, sonography, burn care, operating theatres, and ICU expansion significantly strengthened the care ecosystem.

2000 - 2003

Diagnostics and outreach expanded

Rural health services, X-ray, colour doppler, and upgraded ICU equipment widened access and improved diagnostic quality.

2008

Dialysis and advanced operating rooms launched

The addition of the dialysis centre and five operating rooms reinforced Sanjivani's role as a broad-based multispecialty hospital.
